The Telephone Reassurance Program is a free program that provides friendly phone calls to older adults who are lonely, homebound or socially isolated. A volunteer is matched to an older adult to make friendly phone calls every week and to build friendly and caring connections. The friendly phone calls help to reduce feelings of loneliness and help to improve quality of life, increase socialization, and safety from knowing someone familiar is checking in. The Telephone Reassurance Program is available for residents of Grundy, Kankakee and Will Counties who are 60 years or older.
