Fecal Immunochemical Testing (FIT)

FIT Testing is available for those between the ages of 50 and 75 years old who are at a normal risk of developing colon cancer. The test is a pain free, no preparation test that detects fecal occult blood in the stool. The test can be picked up at the Grundy County Health Department, the sample collected in the comfort of your home, and then the completed kit is returned to the health department via postal mail or drop off for testing. The patient is notified of their results after testing is complete.
